Ugandan Government may sign anti-gay law which could be a jail term of seven years for promoting homosexuality. Last year, Uganda passed a law which warranted life imprisonment for gays but it was struck down by the Court over
technicalities.

Frank Mugisha, a gay-rights activist, and other gay right activists have vowed to fight the legislation

It is understood that Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni is under pressure from his own party to ensure that anti-gay legislation is passed. The president has been in power for 28 years and may sign the bill to win public support in 2016 elections

Barack Obama had described the legislation as “a step backward for all Ugandans”. Whereas it is popular in Uganda
