Mohammed Kamaruzzaman
Bangledesh may hang Mohammad Kamaruzzaman of the Jamaat-e-Islami party. He may become the second senior Islamist to hang for crimes committed during the 1971 war of independence that resulted in secession of the former East Pakistan. The Supreme court upheld the decision according to
the law minister, Anisul Hu

It is understood he has seven days to appeal the decision

"On the expiry of seven days, if he does not apply for clemency... the sentence passed by the highest court of the country can be executed," he said.

Kamaruzzaman was convicted in May 2013 of mass murder, torture and abductions. His appeal was rejected causing mass protest by Islamists. He was sentenced last week for crimes during a war that caused an estimated 300,000 and 500,000 death in the 1971 war
