RMS Titanic, popularly known as just Titanic was a British passenger ship that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early morning of 15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton , UK to
New York City , US.

This sinking resulted in deaths of
more than 1,500 people.

The RMS Titanic, was the largest ship afloat at the time it entered service and was deemed unsinkable.

the sinking. On her maiden voyage, RMS Titanic carried 2,224 passengers and

some of the wealthiest people in the world. Since the dicovery of the remains of the ship in 1985, many artefacts were recovered

Most people who died in the sinking were mainly men and third class passengers because when the ship started sinking, officials evacuated first class passengers, women and children first.

The third class passengers were allowed to fend for themselves. They witnessed more casualties.

Only some 710 people survived the Titanic horror. The low number of survivors was due to low number of life boats and lack of rescue. The life boats could only accomodate about 1000 people.
