An estimated 42 people were feared dead in Gidan Kaso town of Birnin Magaji Local Government area of Zamfara state by a group of suspected cattle rustlers, and properties of millions of naira destroyed according to Vanguard.
The attack is the latest in series of attacks by cattle rustlers.
They shoot at people who refused to surrender and stole properties. Those who tried to escape were also shot at. A woman is suspected to be among the casualties
The attackers numbering about 80, came with different
dangerous weapons, including AK47 riffles, axe, dungeons’ sharp
knives and cutlass among others in their hands. The chairman of the council, Alhaji aminu Sani, jaja confirmed the attack. He said that only 15 people were killed and three houses burnt to ashes including that of the chairman vigilante group of the area.
