NFF CRISIS DEEPENS

To end the crisis in Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), two major
stake holders, Association of professional Footballers of Nigeria
(APFON) and the Club Owners Association have fixed an emergency
meeting of the two bodies.
According to an intra-mail, sent by the APFON General Secretary
Mr Austin Popo to the Club Owners which was intercepted on line, a
proposed meeting of the Leadership of the two bodies may be held
this week in one of the south-south states. Acting Secretary of the Club
Owners Association Alloy Chukwuemeka confirmed the proposed
meeting, but declined comment on the venue and date.
According to him: “Yes I can confirm that there was a move
towards holding such a meeting between the two bodies, but the
processes leading to it is still on-going, so I can't really speak on the
venue, date and the agenda for now.”
It would be recalled that the Leadership crisis rocking the NFF is far
from being over as the two factional Presidents, Aminu Maigari and
Ambassador Chris Giwa, were last week ordered out of the NFF
office by the NSC.
Meanwhile, a non-elective congress of the NFF is expected to be held
in Warri, Delta State this weekend to draw a road map towards an
elective congress in line with FIFA directive.
